Help shape the future of South Portland!

Exciting news: A draft of the update to the Comprehensive Plan—the guiding document for growth and development in South Portland over the next decade—is nearing completion. The work will pause for a summer recess and continue this fall with public engagement and committee discussion.

Soon, you'll be able to view the draft plan, submit feedback online or in person at both libraries, and make comments during upcoming committee and Council meetings. A Comp Plan-focused City Council workshop was originally planned for early September, but due to public feedback that the timing is not ideal for those returning from vacation and the back-to-school transition, the Mayor has rescheduled it. Unfortunately, it could not be postponed to the next month's workshop agenda because the Council's workshop schedule is fully booked until the spring. However, the schedule may be adjusted in the coming weeks.
